As Duluth continues its slow descent towards winter, our attention turns increasingly towards enjoying those activities found indoors, away from the harsh elements of winter. True, there’s still plenty to love about Duluth outdoors during the winter, especially if you’re willing to bundle up and go wherever the wintry weather would like to take you. Even so, we all need a respite from the cold, biting winds of winter from time to time. And for that, we turn to Duluth’s vibrant cultural centers. Luckily for us, there are a number of fun and interesting events coming up worth checking out. One of our favorite is the Duluth Junk Hunt, one of Duluth’s best indoor markets, showcasing the regions top vintage finds. Come stay with us this November at our Duluth Bed and Breakfast, and get ready to shop ’til you drop.
Duluth Junk Hunt Indoor Market
2017’s fall Junk Hunt indoor market takes place on November 3rd and 4th at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC). In total, there will be over 100 booths of vintage, antique, and repurposed finds from the regions top vendors. Admission is only $5, and buys you access to one of the best indoor vintage markets in the region. It’s a great place to find creative gifting solutions, or to pick something new up for yourself. Don’t forget to find a “Junk Hunk” to help you load up all of your finds when you’re done. In addition to rare vintage finds, this year’s market will also feature a farmers market, set to showcase local flowers and foods.
Other Indoor Markets Worth Visiting
- Nice Girls of the North market occurs on the second Saturday of each month, and is always a fun place to browse for unique, hand-crafted goods, purchased from the artists directly. The final two markets of the year will take place on November 11 and December 9, 2017. Shoppers will enjoy a wonderful selection of handcrafted clothing and bags, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, photography, personal care products, baby items, and more.
- Duluth’s annual Festival of Trees will take place on November 11 & 12, 2017, at the DECC. Not only will you enjoy the beautiful, hand-decorated trees at the festival, but the craft show will feature over 170 local vendors and artisans.
