After all, we typically associate hockey with winter, and we’re still right in the middle of fall. Plan Ahead For the 2017-18 Hockey Season
The first game of the season for the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs takes place on September 30th, 2017. That exhibition game will be followed up by the Ice Breaker Tournament, on October 6 & 7, 2017. UMD will host the University of Minnesota, Union College and Michigan Tech at AMSOIL Arena, and is the first such event hosted at AMSOIL. This is an extraordinary honor for the UMD Bulldogs, and is an excellent way to kick off the 2017-18 season, where the bulldogs have been ranked 6th in a preseason poll. There’s also an incredible women’s hockey team at UMD. They have been ranked 5th in preseason polls, and their season kicks off on Septmeber 29th against Penn State. The two teams have never met on the ice before, but this non-conference showdown promises to be a good time.
