Events, Tours, & More at Glensheen Mansion
The Glensheen Mansion was built for the Congdon family between 1905 – 1908. It’s situated on 12 stunning acres butting up against Lake Superior. Even though there are formal gardens and well-manicured landscaping throughout, the property still maintains the original natural beauty of this incredible space. You can tour the grounds and gardens at your leisure.
Glensheen Mansion itself, which has 39 rooms and encompasses 27,000 square feet of space, is the most visited house museum in the Midwest. Their standard tours aren’t available right now, due to concerns over COVID, but self-guided tours are still available at reduced capacity and with one-way traffic.
There’s always something new and interesting happening at Glensheen Mansion, and there’s no exception to that this fall. These special tours and enhancements change seasonally and are available with or without a tour of the mansion. On Saturdays, Glensheen Mansion is hosting Cider Saturdays, which features local Wild State Cider, Duluth Cider, warm drinks, and other local favorites available for purchase.
There are also free Wednesday Night events at Glensheen Mansion which rotate on a monthly basis. In October, they are hosting Whiskey Wednesdays, perfect for the first-time whiskey drinker or the seasoned scotch fan. Though the event itself is free, drinks are available for purchase. Also available on these evenings are some delicious dinner options from local food trucks The Rambler and K&B Grilled Cheese.
