When taking over the A.G. Thomson House in August of 2007, we knew we were acquiring one of the most unique pieces of property in the heart of Duluth’s incredible Historic Mansion District.
It is a property like no other in this peaceful Congdon district of Duluth with two acres of private grounds, nestled amidst towering pines. The A.G. Thomson House spent a couple of years on the real estate market waiting for that perfect buyer. We were fortunate enough to become its new caretakers of this beautiful B&B in Duluth Minnesota. We have worked very hard to restore the beauty and reputation to this warm, wonderful, elegant home. We love sharing our Bed and Breakfast with our guests, friends, and family.
We have also been fortunate to receive acknowledgement for the work we have done and are often recognized as one of the best places to stay near Lake Superior. Our mission as Innkeepers and caretakers of our incredible home is to continue to strive to offer our guests a warm and inviting space, and genuine hospitality. Also, to continue to preserve, restore, and refine this perfect place that we call home, in beautiful Duluth, MN!
A.G. Thomson House is proud to receive the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the 8th year in a row! The Hall of Fame award is presented to those businesses which have received the COE for 5+ years in a row.
We have been awarded Certificate of Excellence for seven straight years: 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012
We are honored to be named Traveler’s Choice for the Top B&Bs in the United States: 2017, 2016*, 2013, 2012*
*Named #1 of all U.S. B&Bs
“This cheerful retreat in Duluth’s Mansion District has earned many accolades: TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice 2016 named it the top bed-and-breakfast in the country. Chalk it up to the multi-course breakfasts, fireplaces in each room, luxurious beds and Midwest hospitality. Summer is a terrific time to hang in a hammock among the gardens.”
“Stately and homey, classy yet casual, this 1909 Dutch Colonial mansion offers a pampered escape. Join other guests for multicourse breakfasts or have it delivered to one of the seven guest rooms.”
