Time: gates open at 4 pm with music beginning at 4:30 pm
The Midwest’s greatest Fourth of July celebration and fireworks extravaganza! Visit Bayfront Festival Park during the Independence Day Celebration! Music provided by Air National Guard Band of the Midwest and Big Wave Dave & the Ripples. Duluthians and visitors alike will enjoy this FREE community celebration. No bottles, cans or coolers, please. Minnesota’s largest fireworks display produced by Visit Duluth.

Jul 3rd: The Duluth Experience presents: Thirsty Thursday Brewery Tour
Time: 5:00 pm
When you join The Duluth Experience Brewery Tour, we will take you on a behind-the-scenes brewery tour. You’ll meet the brewers, learn about how their systems work, sample their beer, and make a personal connection with the Duluth craft beer scene. You get to enjoy samples of delicious and diverse craft beer selections from three local breweries. Come back for a second tour and sample from three different breweries! We value a fun and educational experience and we think you will too. Learn about Duluth’s unique craft beer community, Duluth’s history, and take a safe, convenient scenic tour in our 14-passenger bus so park your cars and get on the bus. Let us do the driving while you enjoy a locally brewed craft beer. Tours are approximately four and a half hours long; cost is $79.00 per person.

Jul 10th: Dierks Bentley RISER 2014 tour
Time: gates open at 5:00 pm/Music at 6:00 pm
Joining Dierks on stage is Sara Evans and a special reunion performance by Whiskey River. Tickets are $45.00 before June 15th and $55.00 after. They go on sale Friday May 16, 2014 at 10am at the DECC Ticket Office. Bring a standard concert bag chair. No umbrellas or canopies. Chairs are allowed behind the bike rack of the general admission area. You are allowed to bring in 1 SEALED bottle of water per person to refill. Service animals are welcome but other pets are not allowed in the park. The concert will go on rain or shine.

Jul 16th- Jul 19th: The Duluth Playhouse presents “Les Miserables”
Time: Wed-Sat 7:30 pm
This international smash-hit may be the most popular musical in the world! Taking place in 19th Century France, society is in a state of flux and talk of revolution is in the air. Recently released from prison, Jean Valjean finds himself in search of personal change as he breaks his parole in an attempt to walk the path of redemption. Redemption, however, may not be so easy to come by as he is relentlessly pursued by Police Inspector Javert who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Soaring music and uplifting storytelling accompany this world-renowned musical – leaving the audience feeling inspired and overjoyed! Jul 20th: Duluth Triathlon (Buzz Ryan & Duluth Triathlon Festival)
Time: 8:30 am
A half ironman distance triathlon that is staged at the most scenic multi-sport course in the state! 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run. Admission varies so please visit the Web site. Held at Minnesota Power’s Island Lake Park, 7180 Rice Lake Rd.

Every Tuesday night during July: Chester Creek Concerts at Chester Bowl
Time: 7 pm-8:30 pm
Music by “Saint Anyway” Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating, while enjoying the beautiful outdoor setting of Chester Bowl at 1800 East Skyline Parkway. Admission is free. Concerts will be held every Tuesday through August 5.
